The internet is a vast resource for website owners. One resource that assist webmasters is Qirina. It provides owners with tools such as keyword research.

Anyone hoping to boost traffic to their website on the Internet knows the importance of online marketing, search engine optimization and proper keyword usage. However, most online site owners tend to fall back on methods such as spending money on hiring special marketing and search engine optimization firms to take care of the bulk of the work for them. Such methods can be a hit or miss, but there are other ways for site owners to empower themselves and learn a do-it-yourself way of finding out where their websites may be lacking.

Something Different From the Norm

According to its official website, “Qirina is not a search engine, and will not compete against Google.” For many site owners, search engines are the end-all and be-all of online resources as far as tracking how well or poorly their website is ranked in certain online searches. However, using Google, Bing and Yahoo! (among others) barely scratches the surface when it comes to ways they can improve their site’s performance and drive more traffic.

Surprisingly, not everyone that owns a website is a tech geek that understands the jargon and concepts that allow their site to function. JayPeeOnline describes what Qirina does perfectly in layman’s terms as: “…a keyword analysis and comparison engine that can be used to review a website’s on-site SEO. It can also be used to compare a website’s data with that of competitor’s sites and also for finding other websites that belong to a particular niche.”

What It Means for Site Owners

Using this resource provides site owners with a “map” of keywords, which they can not only use to evaluate the content of their own sites but find out how the competition is performing and view other websites that are using the same keywords and/or specializing in the same niche.

Another way Qirina is able to assist site owners is by identifying “errors.” This tool identifies a particular site’s niche by scanning the front page of the site, analyzing the keywords used and then conducting a comparison with other websites in the database. When errors occur, it is typically because of “insufficient text” that appears on a page. So what does this mean for site owners? It could be a signal that the page is missing vital content descriptions by only having images and product names displayed. By adding a few basic paragraphs of readable content with proper keywords, this is more likely to generate relevant traffic to the site. When such an error is remedied, this increases a site’s chances of being ranked higher through search engines.

In the short time since it was developed, Qirina currently covers about 1.4 million domain names. To make results more relevant for users, it excludes websites that are labeled as spam, are in a foreign-language or deemed “unindexable.” Additionally, it also has the ability to tell the difference as to whether a particular site contains adult/pornographic content.
